At the 2nd World Senior Tourism Congress on 24 May 2019 in Yantai (China) EFOS was represented by Nadezda Hrapkova, Katarina Grunwald and Peter Hug. Delegates came from more than 40 countries all over the world. AIUTA was a co-organiser.
Our president Nadezda Hrapkovà gave a presentation about EFOS and was honored as a Confucius Tourist Ambassador.
Katarina Grunwald and Nadezda Hrapkovà were invited to the panel discussion on Senior Study Tours to talk about Austria and Slovakia respectively.
On the 4th of July 2016, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of its University of the Third Age, the University of Wroclaw awarded a diploma to EFOS. The rector presented it to our president Dr. Nadežda Hrapková in appreciation of the international cooperation with the University and its University of the Third Age.
On 13 May 2016, on occasion of the XXVIIth General Assembly of AIUTA in Reims, Mrs. PhDr. Nadezda Hrapkova, president of EFOS and Prof. Francois Vellas, president of AIUTA (International Association of Universities of the Third Age) signed a Memorandum on cooperation in the development of further education for older persons.
On 26 June 2014 the Comenius University Bratislava awarded EFOS with a commemorative medal on the occasion of its 95th anniversary. During a ceremonial meeting, in the presence of the President of Slovakia Mr. Andrej Kiska, the rector presented the medal to our president Peter Hug.
On the same occasion our vice-president Dr. Nadezda Hrapková received a personal medal for her work for adult education.
